School Readiness Assessments
School Readiness can be assessed in two different ways: group assessment or individual assessment.
Please look through the differences below before deciding which is best for your child.
Group Assessment/ScreeningThis is a general and basic screening tool used to get a good idea of how your child has progressed relative to his/her peers. This is done in groups of 5-10 children and usually takes about 4 hours (including breaks in between). It covers basic educational concepts, fine and gross motor development and gives the assessor an opportunity to observe each child's social and emotional maturity within a group situation.

Individual AssessmentThis is a comprehensive and in depth assessment. It is an individual assessment with the child over two mornings and looks at cognitive, emotional and social development. It includes an interview with parents, teachers and the child. The child's work at school is reviewed and if need be a school observation will also take place. The parents will receive a comprehensive report of the results which will be discussed in person during a feedback session once the assessment is complete.
