What is Career Exploration and Development?
The main goal of career exploration is venturing down all possible avenues that are of interest to the client, while holding and embracing who they are as a person, in order to search for their best fit career. This exploration begins as early as Grade 9 when learners are expected to make their subject choices for their senior phase of high school which will ultimately impact their future career paths. Career development is an extension of this journey where the focus is placed on managing learning, work, personal life and the various transitions that accompany this, as adequately as possible.

Career exploration and development can be achieved in the following ways:
- Assessments - The chosen assessment will depend on the client's need at the time of making the appointment. These assessments may range from a Vocational Interest Inventory, Values Scale, Personality and Self Directed Search Questionnaires and Aptitude Test. The duration of an assessment may be from one to two and a half hours, with a required half an hour feedback session once the detailed report is completed.
- Workshops - The workshops are designed to create an opportunity to discuss and share the participants experiences in light of their own career path and how others may grow and benefit from this. Workshops can be arranged to take place at the client's designated venue and the duration will depend on the client's need and topic of interest.
- Counselling - Career counselling is the process to help the client better understand themselves in relation to the world of work to ensure that the best-fit career, educational and life choices are made. Furthermore, it is the stepping stone to enhancing career development.
